|Dr John Provost founded Provost Ink Jet Consulting Ltd in September 2006 after 25 years practical experience in the field of industrial ink jet printing with major international chemical
From 2000 – 2006, Dr Provost was with the Global Ink Jet Printing Team of BASF AG in Ludwigshafen, Germany, retiring in August 2006 as the Technology Relations Manager -starting Provost Ink Jet Consulting Ltd in September 2006.
During the 6 years with BASF he wasinvolved in technology development, global marketing strategy for industriaI and textile ink jet printing, market intelligence and assessing new ink jet technologies.
Dr Provost has been involved in the Colouration Industry for 44 years with Instrumental Colour Systems Ltd (1972-1973), Courtaulds PLC (1973-1978), ICI, Zeneca, Astra Zeneca (1978- 1999), Avecia Ink Jet (1999-2000), BASF (2000-2006) and Provost Ink Jet Consulting Ltd (2006 to date).
For the last 35 years has been actively developing industrial ink jet printing solutions with ICI PLC, Zeneca PLC, Avecia Ink Jet Ltd ,BASF AG and Provost Ink Jet Consulting Ltd ( 2006 to Present).
He founded Provost Ink Jet Consulting Ltd in September 2006 to provide consultancy to the industrial ink jet industry and particularly for the Digital Textile Printing Market.
He is also the Technical Editor of Digital Textile Magazine since January 2009,published by WTIN (World Textile Information Network)
His other coloration interests include conventional textile printing screen technology, colour physics and colour management systems for both conventional textile and digital textile ink jet printing.
Dr Provost also has experience of Technology Due Diligence in the industrial digital textile printing area.
He is the author of over 110 papers in coloration and textile printing (both conventional and digital printing) and holds 6 Patents in ink jet printing.
Dr Provost graduated with a B.Sc. First Class Hons degree in Colour Chemistry and a Ph.D Research degree in Colour Physics from the Bradford University (UK)
He is a Fellow of the Society of Dyers and Colourists (FSDC) and a Chartered Colourist (C.Col.)
Dr Provost has also been awarded the Society of Dyer and Colourists Silver medal for developments in the Textile Printing Industry.
In March 2009 he was co awarded the Millson Award for Invention by the American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists (AATCC) for co-development of the first commercial textile ink jet printing machine.
